Philips Fidelio X3: Review And Other Details

 Philips launched Fidelio X2HR six years ago. It was the best headphone from Philips. Philips had launched Fidelio X3 as its predecessor. It has a different approach to sound.

Design And Build

Fidelio X3 is very beautiful in design. The Fidelio X3 has 3.5 mm ports on both sides. You will need 3 pole connectors. The Fidelio X3 has a similar design as the previous model. However, it is lighter than the previous model. You will get mirror head leather. It is smooth and luxurious to touch.

The aluminum alloy makes it lightweight. It has a big and extendable headband. It also looks like a step down in some parts. Fidelio X3 is a little bit thinner and modern. Cups do not feel solid compared to the X2HR. It will provide you a smooth experience.

It weighs around 330 grams without the cables. Pads are still removable and have a 4 pin system. It is also a little bit softer compared to the previous version. You can feel some pressure pulling upward because of the headband. However, you can wear it continuously for a few hours.

Connectivity

The Fidelio X3 has two separate channels for both sides. You will also get the adapter for better use. It is not more power-demanding. It provides a nice lower floor. You will not face any issue connecting to the PC or laptops. Fidelio X3 is better than X2HR at some technical level. It is easier to drive.

Inside The Box

The Fidelio X3 comes covered with a protective cloth. The v comes with two detachable cables. One has a 3.5 mm connector, while the other has a 2.5 mm connector. The box also has a 6.1 mm half-inch adapter. You will get user manuals inside the box.

Sound Quality

Fidelio X2HR was focused on bass. They had a good sound quality compared to other headsets. The Fidelio X3 does not produce as much bass as the Philips X2HR. These headphones have open-back architecture. Other music genres work well with the Fidelio X3. You will get good string performance in this headset. You can barely feel distortion in Fidelio X3.

Overall Change

The Fidelio X3 still has an amazing power stage and low power requirement. This feature makes it good gaming headphones. The construction and sound stage is improved from the previous version. The drivers are angled at 50 mm. Fidelio X3 has fantastic details in vocals, and you will also get a good channel separation.

Fidelio X3 comes with sound mode and other improvements. Overall it has great build quality. However, ear cups might be harder to replace.

The Fidelio X3 is twice the price of its previous version, the Fidelio X2HR. You can use it for gaming purposes. However, you will not get a premium feel while listening to music with them. The Fidelio X3 does not look like a Step-up, it may be a sidegrade. They have very good build quality.
