XGIMI Horizon Pro 4K Projector Review

Horizon has introduced Horizon Pro 4K, a wonderful series of home projectors. Let me introduce you to the XGIMI Series, the flagship projector string. The Horizon Series comprises the Horizon and the Horizon Pro. The Horizon is a tiny customized 1080p portable DLP projector. While the Horizon Pro is an efficient, customized 4K portable DLP projector.

The single disparity between these two projectors is in the resolution. The measure of both of them at 8.6″ W x 5.4″ D x 8.2″ H. Their compact design makes them portable. It has a power slot and a flat watching surface, which allows you an easy plug-and-play experience. A tripod placing is situated under the projector to enable putting tripod more effortless.

The built-in music is more than efficient for a projector. While the fetching black casing and smooth metal remote and beamer also are way more superior at this price.

For regular users, however, HD and SD expansion aren’t very fascinating. With image artifacts, on/off button, and color distortion decreasing down when you’re not supplying the Horizon Pro better sources.

Design and Features

  • It has a sleek metal design remote.
  • Comprises two HDMI ports (not have HDMI 2.1)
  • Doesn’t support Netflix or Disney Plus

The design quality is surely the most appealing spec about the Horizon Pro projector. Despite its pertinent price structure, it’s a beamer that looks incredibly rewarding. The beamer has a nice wraparound grille and black metal finish. The grille has covered the speakers along the side. You’ll get a touch control panel on the top of the projector, which is pleasantly appealing. Plus, it consists of two HDMI 2.0 slots for plugging in consoles or streaming devices.

It’s quite compact, weighing just 6.4lbs, enabling it comparatively easy to shift inside the house. You can also use the incredible auto-keystone correction, which quickly changes the slant direction of the image. The change in direction and slant depending on the wall-facing angle of the Horizon Pro.

You need to insert an external battery to maintain the beamer size down. We faced some problems putting the projector on sometimes but unplugging and plugging again at the mains always worked.

The slim metal remote is a masterpiece in a sleek design. The metal casing remains cold to the touch plus comprises a nice way to control things to a handful of grains. The comprising buttons are power, settings, Google Assistant, home screen, volume, and return controls. The pull-out system for the batteries is a little insubstantial, so you’ll need to be more careful while reinserting it.

Horizon Pro launched on May 10 and currently available for pre-booking at $1,699. XGIMI is also selling a 1080p model of the projector dubbed Horizon, and that version is available at $1,099.

XGIMI’s Competition

Optoma’s UHD51A is one of the best alternatives to Horizon Pro. It is due to its value-intended costing and picture quality. The projector functions with HDR10 quality and goes up to 2,400 lumens. Plus, you find an Alexa and Google Assistant integration in it. It has a cited rating of 15,000 hours. However, it won’t work as long as the Horizon Pro 4K projector, but it is way cheaper than that too. It is available for $1,100 only.

The Vava 4K laser projector is a great choice if you need a short-throw 4K projector. It is expensive, but you can easily place it right next to a wall yet leverage up to a 150-inch projection. Horizon Pro 4k projector costs $2,800. It incorporates a customized soundbar with 60W of power. Plus, it goes up to 2,500 lumens and also functions with 4K HDR10 quality content.
